Horizontal Split Case Pumps

Cyclone Pump Range

Horizontal Split Case Pumps

Our axially split centrifugal pumps are engineered to deliver high flow rates across demanding industrial applications. Featuring a robust, double-suction design and an impeller strategically positioned between the bearings, these pumps offer exceptional reliability, low Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) requirements, and maintenance-free operation. The double-suction configuration maximises hydraulic efficiency, leading to highly economic power consumption and reduced operational life-cycle costs.

Double-Suction Design Low NPSH Requirements Up to 170 m Head

Axial Split Advantage: By utilising a double-suction impeller design, axial forces are completely balanced. This internal compensation minimises hydraulic thrust load on the generously dimensioned, pre-loaded, maintenance-free bearings, drastically extending their operational lifespan and ensuring smooth, vibration-free service.

Product Overview

Horizontal split case pumps represent a fundamental architecture choice for applications requiring exceptional flow rates, low suction-side requirements, and extended bearing life. By splitting the casing along the horizontal centreline and positioning the impeller between two bearings, these pumps deliver maximum hydraulic stability while minimising the mechanical stresses that plague conventional overhung designs.

The double-suction impeller design is the key distinction: fluid enters from both ends simultaneously, balancing axial hydraulic forces and reducing thrust loading to near-zero. The result is remarkably low wear, extended bearing intervals, and maintenance-free operation in mission-critical applications where downtime is unacceptable.

Design Architecture & Hydraulic Efficiency

Double-Suction Impeller Configuration

Fluid enters the impeller from both ends simultaneously, creating perfect axial balance. This eliminates the large thrust forces that plague single-suction pumps and reduces bearing wear to a minimum.

Between-Bearing Support

The impeller is positioned between two robust bearings, creating a mechanically rigid, stable configuration that withstands extreme radial loads and vibration without deflection.

Horizontally Split Casing

The casing splits along the horizontal centreline, simplifying routine maintenance, impeller inspection, and component replacement without affecting the piping configuration.

Generously Dimensioned Bearings

Pre-loaded, maintenance-free rolling element bearings are sized for extended service life. The balanced loading from the double-suction design minimises bearing stress and dramatically extends operational intervals.
